If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a member of the Red Arrows for the day, we might have just the ticket. Experience days have now evolved to the point that you are able to take advantage of several different flying experiences, each designed to cater to lovers of all things aviation.
In this article, we’ll provide an overview of exactly what an aerobatic flight day is going to entail, leaving you in no doubt on whether such an experience is right for you or not.
The Thrill of a Lifetime
The pilot that will take you into the air will of course be highly qualified with many years of experience. You can expect your fair share of stall turns and high-speed banking, all designed to provide you with the thrills that you crave.
If that doesn’t sound like enough for you, how about flying upside down at a speed of in excess of 200mph? You might be surprised to know that some experience providers might even allow you to hold the controls for a second or two, giving you the opportunity of experiencing what the controls of an inflight aircraft feel like.
We cannot guarantee that you will be lucky enough on the day but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
Your Choice of Location
There are several locations around the country that offer aerobatic flight experiences, one of which should be within driving distance of where you’re based. We would suggest seeing where your nearest location is before committing yourself to a booking or a certain date. Availability is often limited so do plenty of research beforehand to avoid coming away disappointed.
Booking as a Gift
We find that experience days are very popular as a gift for friends and family. With that said, not everyone finds the thought as thrilling as you might so maybe consider gaining their opinion first. If on the other hand you know that your intended recipient is as much of an adrenaline junkie as you are, feel free to book an aerobatic plane rides without hesitation.
There are usually several terms and conditions that all participants should be made aware of;
- Experience day vouchers can usually only be redeemed at the location that they were purchased.
- Flight vouchers will need to be activated before they can be redeemed, this should be done by following the instructions on the card.
- There are several weight and height restrictions in effect with passengers over 16 stone unsuitable for taking part in this experience due to the limitations of the aircraft. In the same vein, passengers over 6 ft. 4 tall are usually unsuitable.
You can expect the entire experience to take around 1 hour and 30 minutes with around 30 minutes being spent in the air. Upon landing, there may also be a short presentation ceremony where you are awarded with a certificate.
If the thought of possibly losing your lunch whilst screaming through the air at speed sounds like your idea of fun, it’s time to book your aerobatic flight experience.
