The holiday season is officially upon us, which means lots of parties to host – and more importantly, lots of drinks to make and food to serve.
Hosting a party is a lot of fun, but it can quickly become stressful if you are unprepared or behind on your schedule. Thankfully, there is a handy little cocktail machine that you can use to make your party much easier – and you don’t even have to buy it!
An internet user called GreatScott has created a fantastic solution called “the crude cocktail mixing machine”, and anyone can make one if they want.
The Crude Cocktail Mixing Machine
This machine may look a little basic, but don’t let that fool you; it can make a wide variety of delicious cocktails, and as you have to make it yourself, you can be sure that it will impress your guests! If you want to make the machine yourself you will need an Arduino Nano, a rotary encoder, an LCD, three peristaltic pumps with motor drivers, a few pieces of wood and a load cell. Combined together all of these tools are fairly cheap, and you can find a walk-through video online to ensure that your machine is a success.
Is it worth it?
The crude cocktail maker is fairly simple to set up, and once you have made it, it will be able to mix three different liquids at once using the three peristaltic pumps. You will use the LCD screen and the knob to enter the quantity of liquid that you want to mix together, and hey presto – within a few minutes you will have a delicious drink.
If you’re not sure what to make, some classic popular cocktail options include Old Fashioneds, Martinis, Manhattans, Daiquiris or Negronis. These drinks are sure to put a smile on a guest’s face!
If you don’t think you can make your own cocktail mixer, don’t worry; you will find high-quality commercial catering suppliers at 247cateringsupplies.co.uk to help you get ready for your next party.
We love this handy little tool, and we think that it is perfect for DIY enthusiasts who love a good cocktail – but be careful to follow safety precautions if you decide to make your own Crude Cocktail Mixer, as all DIY projects present a possible risk.
